cage , Burlington k Quincy. After mid
day , however , the buoyancy of the morning -
ing gate way to a depression , nnd there
was a gcnernj rush to sell stocks nmicr
which prices rapidly tumbled down , and at
the second board showed a reaction of i to
3J per cent the latter also In Chicago.
Burlington k Quincy , This was followed
Inter on by somewhat of n recovery , but
towards the close money became strong ,
nnd the rate for call loans advanced to 6
per cent. This caused a renewed depres
sion in the share list nnd the market closed
Irregular , with prices generally 4 ; to 3jj per
cent below yesterday's closing quotations.

for currency from the farming districts
