dealings there was somewhat of nnadvance ,
hut subsequently a weakened feeling Pet

partial recovery took place , hut iu thu
final dealing of the day the remrts | were
generally about the lowest.

The transferring of grain mid provisions
on 'Change swelled the clearings of the
associated banks to § 14,400,000 , and the
l.rospect is that they will bo larger tomorrow
row , loanable funds continue in good
hitpply , and , with an active demand by all
classes of borrowers , interest rates were
' from 5 to C per cent on call and 7 per cent
on time. Eastern exchange between city
banks was tpioted at SOc to SI discount per
thousand dollars. Orders for currency

In mcrchantile circles prices were gen
erally steady and unchanged throughout.
The canned goods market is somewhat ex
cited , but with this exception everything
lemains as reported Saturday.
The market for hogs was steady to-day
and yesterday's prices were well main
tained. The markets in St. Louis and
Chicago were a shade higher.
Wheat is firm ; No. 2 advanced ; Jc ; No. 3
is Ic lower , and for rejected only Glc was
offered to-day , live declined 2c. Co.ni
advanced Ac , and oats Ic lower than Sat
urday.
We note an advance in most all grades
of flour.
