Saturday's markets showed a firm feel
ing in trade with a general temlcncv to
wards higher prices , The week's business
was reported as considerably heavier than
for the week previous with country collec
tions cabier and a ste.uly demand forallnta-
ples. Groceries were ( inn , and wholesalers
reported the market generally active , and
prices firm at last quotations , The grain
market was feverish. Wheat No. 2 , cash ,
advanced 3 cents over Kriday'H prices , No.
: ( ] jumping forward 3J cents , liarleyva (
quoted at an advance of 10 cents for No. 2.
and S cents for No , 3 , dealers finding it dif
ficult to fill the demand for local brewing ,
Jtye was dull and in small demand , prices
being quoted at 7 cents lower than Friday * !
closing quotations.
The live stock maiket was dull. A
Might decline was noticed in the prices ol
cattle. Hogs declined a few cents. Sheej
dropped 15 cents. There is no change t <
note in the provision or produce markets ,
