About twenty months ago the pro prietors of TUB BEE made a contract with two lifhographere , Joseph Brown and J. Rachtk , for establishing a lith- ozraphic branch with the Omaha Bee printing house. The contract was for five years , and allowed the proprietors of Tun BEE percentage upon all litho graph work , ill consideration of ad * Virtising the business , furnishing ravelling men , room , light , fuel , etc. As a guarantee for the performance of the contract the materials used in the lithograph branch were to be hbld a security in case the contract was violated by Brown & Rachek. The wo partners in the lithograph concern quarrelled and finally about four months ago Rachek aesumec he cntra busiaeBS. Being without means to buy out his partner , the proprietors of THE BEL endorsed his notes for atout $100 and furnished him sufficient capii.il ti carry on the busitieEft. All woul < have jjohe on harmonioualy but fo ' the ' impertinent interference of rive publishing houses in Omaha , who anxious to break tip the lithngrapl business of THE BEE , mad Mr. Rachek believe that i he could leave the establishment o THE BEE they could procure him great d-nt more patronage than he ha where he then was , Rachek soon began to make preparations - parations for a removal of the materials and presses to other quarters. This was a breach of his contract , and in order to pro tect themselves , the proprietor ! of THE BEE , about six weeks ago , ap plied for an injunction from Judge Bartholomew to restrain Rachek from removing the material , presses , etc. The injunction was granted , and Richek continued undisturbed in bus iness until about two weeks ago , when he suddenly b-gan pack ing and unbox'ng ' the materials and finally carried them away under an order of replevin. He furnished a bond , signed by Hnrry and Thomas A. Gibson , and established himself in the Central Block. The Republican and Herald strikers were crowing very lustily over their success in breaking up the litho graphing business of THE BEE. Meantime , however , a warrant for arrest of Rachek was sworn ou' , for violating the injunction , and the pipers were faled with Judge Savage by Messrs. Webster and Gylord , at torneys for the Bee Publishing com pany. Saturday Judge Savage issued an order sustaining the injunction , fining Rachek a nominal sum for contempt , and orilsring him to rts cro the prop erty to TUB BEE building. This will of course place the lithographing con- csru of THE BEE in the condition in which it was before the suit began. Mr. Rachek himself is not so much to blame as those who instigated him to this fooli h business for pure mean ness. It will bo an expensive affair , however , for him. Oar fint shipments of foreign goods have been arr.vu.g during the week , are marked off aud will be ready for inspection on Monday. Wo are happy to inform our friends that this is , by far , the fineat ssort ment we have ever shown. The dress goods are simply magnificent , and in enormous variety , as we were extreme ly anxious that our patrons should have an opportunity of seeing every one of all the very latest styles intro duced in the EiBt. As the quantity we have of each style is exceedingly limited , ( to prevent vent any style getting too common in this market ) we would strongly rec- commend our friends to select at once anything they may fancy , as there is no certainty of our being able to du plicate these goods in the New York market , and our friends in previoi B seasons have often met with suriou- disappeintment in coming back for ods already sold. It is impossible in the limits of this advertisement , to give a detailed description of out splendid new goods , but desire espo- lullv to mention our one hundred dif ferent styles of Dross Goods and oui beautiful line of Silk Brocades ano Fancy Silks and Velvets. Also our rich stock of laces , among which we would distinguish a rare assortment sortmont cf Spanish Lice Scarfa , and the the Point D'Alencon and Dentillo Coraline Laces , with many other va rieties. The point m isjue wns the right of tha city to levy a license t x on a runner for thj Unit n Pacific railway. , Gen. He was f < 1- lowing tno occupation of a runner when lie was arrested , aud ho had neB B license whatever. Mr. Poppleton took tha ground that the transfer of persons in vihicles ac-oss the bridge was not a ferry it did not run from bank to bank of the river , but carried passengers and vo hides beyond either bank and , fui theimore , that the ordinary levymg of a tax on runnera does not include the agents of railroad companies , but simply runnera for omnibueses , hotels mercantile homes , stage lines , "and other lines.
