the-will provided for old Sjre alone
and never mentioned his heirs. All
jperjom related to the deceased mil-
lionare were therefore at liberty to
prove their claims , and tha rich leg
acy1 , which is at present in the hands
pf { he.authorities , will be divided
, amopgthem. TheSyresaraoutof the
queition , and the eldest son , with that
claim of 60,000 florins upon him has
gone mid. The number of persons
that have already applied for the heri
tage is immense , aud each branch of
the family not a very illustrious one ,
you may be sure would naturally
prefer being sole heir. Old Ott had
at one time made a will in which were
contained legacies for all his friends ,
small or great , but of course this
was annulled when he named Syre his
dole hoir. Then a number of unirn-
poitant dispositions were found on
small slips , of paper , and among other
things was a prajor for a quiet funeral
and a desire fur a certain dress-coat he
wished to weir in his grave. Now
some of hia relations in Bavaria have
asked if at the time of his funeral that
coat was searched thoroughly , and
when the answer was in the negative
they demanded that the grave should
be reopened and his coat examined
cloiely for a possible will. It certain
ly is probable that he made one , since
'he fiilly knew that by old Syre's death
iiis will was of.no value whatever , and
he cannot have been in ignorance that
Syra'a heirs would not inherit when
he had not mentioned them in his will.
We are of course all very eager to hear
the last of this story , which has be
come quite thrilling sines it has beeu
decided that the repose of the dead is
to ba disturbed for the benefit of the
living.
