The Cincinnati Price Current , in referring ; to the movement of hogi , and the progress of pocking opera tions , says : Notwithstanding the mid-iummer warmth of the weather during the put week , there has been an increas ed business in packing operations in the West , both as compared with the previous week and corresponding time last year. At Chicago there has been considerable activity , and at Milwaukee and Kansas City there has been a material increase In business. The returns received hovr a total of about 3,125,000 hog now handled by Western packers since March 1st , against 2,840,000 , leit year , an increase of 285,000. Chicago cage has overtaken her last year's record , and will cloze the season with & gam. St. Louis will show an in crease of 150,000 for the summer sea- ion , and there will be more or leu in crease at Cincinnati , Kansas City , De troit , Dea Moines and Sabula , while Cleveland will make a gain of about 80,000 head , and Atchison will cut about 160,000 whore no packing was done last summer , and Omaha hat killed 11,700 against none a year ago. Milwaukee willprobably fall some what behind , and Indianapolis and Cedar Rapids will fall considerably short In regard to the new season then is nothing new to offer. There is scarcely any complaint of disease from any section. Corn is ripening np finely , and will be In excellent feed ing order. There is nothing on which a decreased supply of hogs , compared kwith last winter , can safely be oalca- ' LUted upon. There is , however , a owing feeling in the trade that pri- i of hogs will rule higher than last iter , but any material erfhanc- in value will likely have the cfc to enlarge the number ught into the winter marketing , this manner the hazard to .the lays in stocks to hold at i will be increased. There era , however , who have prices being but little , last year , and sales here lie of- seller the year and lard for Jan- . The new season 9 co'untry almost its , but there will be perces of lard left , ) lut yeais Market. rlJ. is engaged upon an order for 100,000 doors for the English market , and to enable them to fill the order , have so- cnred the aid ot another manufactur ing establishment of nearly or quite as great capacity. If so , one of these ten cent bottles of my world panner- sea will instantly relieve and cure. " "Just what I want , " replied the young man , and ho laid down ten cents and took a bottle. "Gentlemen/1 continued the ven der , "do you have backache and chills ? If so , I warrant this panner- sea to cure you at two dosea. It has been tried by kings and emperors , and it has given univer " "Been looking for just this cure , " interrupted the young man , and he paid for a second bottle and fell back into his old track. "Gentlemen , it gives me pleasure'to assert that this medicine was original ly invented as a cure for headache , " softly remarked the seller. "When I say that it will cure the worst case of headache ever known in from three to five minuter , I solemnly mean what I say. It has been tried in ten thou sand cases. " "Might as well knock my headache while I'm about it , " taid the young man to himself , and he laid down a quarter and received his correct change for another bottle. "Ah ! gentlemen ; it does me good to see that you appreciate my reme dy , " said the vender as he moved the bottles around. "Are any of you troubled with liver complaint or dys pepsia ? If so , try my pannersea. It has relieved and cared millions o'f suf fering human buings. " The young man was still the only audience. Faith brightened on his face , and he laid down ten cents with the remark : "My old liver is always kicking up trouble , and I guess I'll cure herl "My fellow-citizens , " remarked the sailer as he mopped his face , "are you troubled with toothache , cutane ous diseases , palpitation of the heart , loss of sleep or in-growing toe-nails ? " "We are ! " solemnly replied the young n > an , and he invested in an other bottle. "Americans freemen are you subject to coughs , hoarseness , bron chitis , quinsy , consumption , night mare , loss of memory , whooping cough or falling out cf the hairl" "Hanged if we ain't ? " whispered the young fellow with the double chin , and he pocketed his sixth bottle and waited for further oratory. His remarkable faith staggered the dealer , who finally said : "I guess you have enough for this time. Take according to directions and you will soon feel the beneficial effects. " "Tes , I will thank you ever so much yes , " stammered the young man. "This 'ere remedy isn't ' g3od for fifs , is it ? " "Well , well , " slowly answered the vender "that is , it is not a regular cure for fits. Cfcsse , at the State Fair. Silently , but surely the Great Re volution Is going on which shall make every man who tills the soil the own er of the acre * upon which he bestows The profits which arise from the " plow must yet belong to him who aither holds or drives , and not be turned over to the silent looker-on who is comparatively indifferent as to the crop , merely because he is the landlord. The lessons which are constantly being taught by thostf wHo have come From the Old World to till the soil of Jur fertile valleys will not be lost. Fhe toiling millions who are to-day working as tenants or serfs for a bare lubsistence for themselyes and their ittle families will heed these lessons , rad be induced by them to lift them- lelvea np into a land-owning , more iseful and happier life. Turn then nrhich ever way we will , and nowhere lo we find a competition which en- langers our prosperity as a grain rais- ng , stock growing people. The constant efforts of the English iress to induce the belief that our sattle are diseasedour sheep infected , ind our hogs trichinotio , will be in rain. If these things they state were rue , why such trepidation across the rater as ta the decline in their agri cultural industries , why the organi- ation just at this time of a Ministry > f Acriculture ? Official farming in that country may > e entertaining , but it will not be- omo dangerous to American interests 0 long as our lands possess as they do n inexhaustible soil , more than equal ty nature to the richest manufactur- d or fertilized soil of England. "Facts speak louder than words , " nd just now above this din and langor of the English press , the noise 1 the calker's mallet ia heard upon he "Great Eastern , " as this old sea aonster is being lifted up , at an ex- leise of half a million of dollars , , to any cattle from our American plains o English stock yards. Such a float- Dg meat market as she will present rith her living cargo will be worth rhile , for it is estimated that she will ccommodate 2000 head of beeves , or O'OOO aeeep , upon her decks. Another fact , a few days stece an- lounced by cablegram , that a steamer rould soon arrive in New York with 6,500,000 , in gold for the purchase f grain , shows which way the finan- ial wind ia blowing across the water.
