Recently a book came to the university with the address "The Honorable, the Vice-chancellor or Principal of Ne braska, Lincoln, United States, America." The book is as peculiar as the address, being an illustrated catalogue of ob solete musical instruments, with special reference to the his tory of the pianoforte. J. Kendrick Pyne.organist ol Manches ter cathedral, realized that if a complete set of such antiqui ties was not made in a few years it would be impossible to do so.
