shown in preparing himself under such difficulties. He will

Those who know our Will O. Jones, '86, will read with
pleasure this' highly commendatory article about a younge r
member of the Jones family. By the way, the younger mem
ber once thought of attending here, hut could not make ar
rangements so satisfactory as could be made nearer home.

Club called to order by Vice Prcs. Moved and carried
that debate be dispensed with for one week. A committee
consisting of was appointed to arrange for a joint session
of the U. U. G. A. S. and P. G. D. C. to debate the "Ice
Cream Question." During their absence it was moved and
carried that Miss give the club some music. The clubs
then went into joint session and proceeded to debate. Misses
C 1, G c, H n and B k vigorously assailed Ice Cream.
A few inconsiderate girls attempted to speak for Ice Cream,
but were howled down. At this stage of the debate Miss
brought forward a motion (which was carried,) that the Prcs.
be deprived of her gum. From this time forth the thread of
argument was broken. The evil effects of introducing foreign
subjects into the debate is here shown. As soon as order was
restored the following resolutions were adopted:

Whereas, Through the columns of the Hesperian numer
ous complaints have been made by the "unfortunate boys"
who meet on Saturday morning "to compare notes" concern
ing the "co eds' appetite for Ice Cream," and
Whereas, We all think it's awful mean, be it
Resolved, That we the undersigned pledge ourselves not
to accept invitations to the Ice Cream parlors on Friday
nights after society, and
Resolved, That a committee be appointed to see that the
above is observed.
