The Capitul has become quite a resort for students. The legislature gives them a fine opportunity to notice some ot the workings of a law-making body. The students will find Sheldon's the best place in town to buy their furnishing goods. Mr. McCartney is an enterprising young man, and "will always find a wel come at our sanctum. It must have surprised the Prof, in Po litical Economy the other morning, when, he entered his class room to find ihe rein nants of two cigars lying upon the floor. It didn't look well for a senior class. W. J. Turner, druggist and bookseller, gives us-n r.tw advertisement in this num. ber. Mr. Turner is doing a large business as bookseller, supplying text books for the University. All the books required in the University are sold by him. Students will do well to give Luldy Bros, a call. Anything in the line of hats, caps, etc.. will le found there. These gentlemen will make liberal reductions to students. Notice their advertisement, on the cover, and give them a call. ( The rapid increase of circulation compels us to issue one hundred more copies of the Student than we did lost month. At this rapid rate of increase, it will not be many months before we can boast of a circulation of over one Ihotts and. We think it no exaggeration to say that the IIkspkiuan Studknt is the pride of tiie University. And holding our pa per in such high estimation, we fail to see why all students do not subscribe. Wc admit that a majority of the students sub scribe; bnt wc think there should scarcely be an exception. Students should not think that because the paper is able to sustain itself financially, we need no fur ther support. It is 011I3' by the continu ance of that support that wc are -able to stand. We do not beg. Wo simply re mind all of a duly, when wc urge them to subscribe. Every student attending the University, male or female, should take u copy of the Stuokst. The usual sweetness of temper which is observable in the girls of the Universi ty, seems to be somewhat rallied when Friday comes around to remind them thut the Litcraiy societies meet and the' can't go. They think the boys are "hor rid." Boys, brace up and be gallant Hohmau's Music Emporium has be come one of the best places in Lincoln to secure musical instruments. They are agents for, and have on hand, a largo number of organs, pianos and other inr struments. If anything is desired in the music line, and on favorable terms, giva them a call at their store on O street. The Univercity Union has u lecture committee. The committee will endeavor to secure good aiid popular speakers to lecture in the University chapel. The idea is an excellent one, and shows enter prise on the part of the Society.
