graduate work In hotany, has done
something in the way of supplying

botanical study. When an undergradu
ate student he was noted for the beauty
and accuracy of his work in ihe mak
ing of microscopic specimens, and he
is likely now to be able to turn tuts
ability to good account
Since ladies do not frequent the en
gineering library in the evenings, the
"engineers" deport themselves in ac
cordance with comfort only. It must
certainly be an "awe inslpring" sight
to an unaccustomed visitor during a
wrarm evening to see about fifteen men
in their shirt sleeves, satisfying the
demands of comfort in the most im
proved manner, viz., leaning back in
their chairs with their feet on the
table.
"Dr. E. Benjamin Andrews, chancel
lor of the University ol Nebraska, and
formerly superintendent of the Chicago
schools, will spend the summer lectur
ing at the University of Chicago. The
summer quarter announcements, dis
trinuted at the university yesterday,
says Dr. Andrews will give a course of
twenty lectures on 'Practical Ethics,
and that he will discuss ihe most im
portant moral problems of the personal
life. This series will be given in the
Biblical literature and history group.
Dr. Andrews will also give some of the
lectures in the general course for Fri

Miss Barbour and Mr. Warner have
just finished the restoration of the
pelvis of a great dinosaur called steg
alsaurus ungulatus. These bones were
found by Professors Barbour and
Moore on the Morrill expedition of
1900. They have also finished mount
ing a giant rib of the dinosaurus called
tho atlantosaurus. The rib is six feet
long and of solid proportions, and is
also a discovery made on the expedition
of 3900. Both of these will be on ex
hibition within a month.
The Palladian society helu an ora
torical contest last Frfday evening.
Mr. Fred J. Kelley won the first
prize, which was ten dollars, and Mr.
Clyde C. Telleson won the scconu prize,
five dollars in money.
