BASEBALL SCORES.
A Successful Trip is Shown in the
Eastern Series Doanc is
Laid Up.
The base ball trip so far has been
very satisfactory. Owing to the un
fortunate accident to Doanc, the play
ing of the team in this week's games
has been weakened. A summary of
the games so far follows:
The team played at Omaha May 8.
The game was devoid of interesting
features. At no time was the result
in doubt. Ryan pitched ojfgood game
for the university, allowing hut five
hits.

day . The game abounded in errors on
both sides, caused by tho misorablo
condition of tho diamond. Dliss
pitched a good game, only four hits be

The Notre Dame team proved too
fast for the Lincoln aggregation nt
South Bend, Saturday. Nebraska owe
largely to the fact that Doane, tho
catcher is laid up with a crippled
thumb. Rhodes caught the game and

FOOT BALL. SCHEDULE.
Manager Tukey announces the fol
lowing foot ball schedule. It will be
noticed that five games will be played
on the campus. One or two more
minor games will probably be played.

November 3, Tarkio College, at Tar
klo. November 5, Missouri University, at
Columbia.

The game on the following day was
at Highland Park college, DesMoines,
la. The team is composed largely of
professional players. Nebraska's de
feat is attributed to the pitching of
Thompson of Highland Park, who
struck out ten men, and the heavy bat
ting of Highland Park. In the field
the Nebraskans played the superior
game. Attendance, 300. The score:

On the following day, revenge was
secured on Cornell college. The game
I was a good one until the fifth inning,
the score at that time being 1 to 0 in
favor of Cornell. In the fifth inning
the Nebraska boys began a cannonad
ing which they did not cease until the
end of the game. Gordon pitched a
fine game. Score:
