Johns Hopkins has established a new
course In the Malay language.
The University of Michigan junior
hop was held Friday, February !).
The New York Yale club Is consider
ing the erection of a new club house.
The thirty-second annual banquet of
the Philadelphia Yale alumni wa3 held
on Friday last.
More than 700 candidates responded
to Yale's call for men for her various
athletic teams.
The University of Pennsylvania has
decided to send a track team of twelve
men to London and Paris next summer.
Quite a number of the eastern col
leges are contemplating sending track
teams to Paris the coming summer for
the world's fair.
Delolt college proposes amending the
constitution of her athletic association
so that all foot ball and base ball
panics will be arranged by a coach.
The management of one of our ex
changes has resolved that nothing shall
be printed in their paper except that
which comes from their students and
nluninl.
It is said that Yale has only six more
students this year than last, while the
University of Michigan has gained' one
hundred and fifteen and Cornell nearly
one hundred and fifty.
The annual debate between the Uni
versities of Illinois and Indiana was
held last Friday night. The question
debated related to England's right of
interference in South Africa. Illinois
supported the negative and won.
Yale awarded the 'varsity Y to the
winner of the most points at the recent
contest of the gymnastic association.
Harvard will receive $10,000 from
the city of Cambridge for taxes ille
gally 7cllected during the past few
years.
An intercollegiate swimming relay
race, in which Yale, Columbia, Penn
sylvania, Princeton, and possibly Har
vard, will be entered, will take place
under the auspices of the sportsmen's
show, to be held at Boston February
22 to 24.
One-fifth of 1 per cent of the inhabi
tants of the United States are college
bred men. Yet they furnish 30 per
cent of our congressmen, 50 per cent of
our presidents and more than 75 per
cent of the judges of our supreme

mence on the 19th day of September, 1899, and will
continue eight and one-half months. The course is
graded and covers a period of four years. Medical Hall,
the Laboratory of Medical Sciences, the Laboratory of
Medical Chemistry and the Laboratory of Anatomy arr;
situated upon the University campus. The clinical op
portunities afforded by the hospitals and dispensaries of
Minneapolis and St. Paul are at the command of the
