Carl Snuff, Harry Landls, Claude Wilson and Theodore Hewitt. On the 7th of February tho annual meeting of the Nebraska state confer ence of charities and corrections will occur in tho chapel of tho state uni versity, beginning at 2 p. m. and con tinuing for an evening session. This meeting should bo of general impor tance to all who aro interested in the study of tho problems connected with the management of tho morally and physically infirm, and those who for these and other reasons are in need of charity. Drs. A. Ross Hill ana David R. Ma jors attended the meeting of the pro fessors of philosophy at Kansas City January 1. An association was form ed under the name of tho "Western philosophical association. Its ooject is to increase the interest and stimu late original research in all branches of philosophy. Wiggonhorn, '98 of Ash land, spent last Saturday visiting his fraternity brothers at the Phi Psi house. Frank M. Steiner, ex-'98 of Minne apolis, is in the city looking after his business interests and visiting at the Phi Psi house. Everette Rhea, yho left school some time ago to accept the state agency of a Chicago paper, will be in school again next semester. Alvin Miller, '98, entertained the Delta Epsllon fraternity at his home Tuesday evening. Mr. Miller is at present connected with tho Westing- house electrical plant at Pittsburg, Pa., and is home for the holidays. Miss Macfarland and Mioc Jccnle Macfarland entertained a number of their friends at a dancing party last Friday evening at tneir home on North Fourteenth street. The floors were canvased and refreshments were served during the evening. Charles Schwarz, C. L. Snuff, W. H. King and Verne Hedge returned last week from Liberty, Mo,, where they at tended a district conclave of u.o Kappa Sigma fraternity. Representa tives from Arkansas, Missouri and Ne braska were present.
