NEW ORATORICAL LEAGUE.
Replies have now been received from
South Dakota, Iowa, .Missouri, Kansas
elation in regard to forming an inter
and Minnesota by tho oratorical asso
stato university oratorical league. All
look upon the plan of organization fa
vorably except Iowa, who thinks it an
excellent plan, but Is unwilling to
enter on account of belonging to a sim
ilar organization.
A meeting of delegates was to have
been bold at Vermillion, S. D., Decem
ber 15, but tho t!me being so short tho
idea was given up.
A plan is now being formed whereby
a constitution will bo adopted and offi
cers elected by means of correspond
ence. Vermillion will doubtless bo
chosen as tho place for holding the
first contest, which will occur in May.
