THE HESPERIAN
Friends of the University have noted with pleasure the drop
ping of preparatory subjects in the University and the taking
up of all preparatory work outside the gates iu the Prepara
tory School to the State University. It is a good sign.
It means the devotion of the University to its primary purpose,
the advancement of higher education. It means also the
development of the Preparatory School into the foremost
academy of the state. Already during its first two years it is
very probable that the Preparatory School has turned more
students toward the University, and sent more in, than has any
other school in the state in the same time. The enrollment
this year has been about 200, and prospects for the coming
year are very flattering. The Preparatory School is doubtless
destined to be the foremost feeder of our great University.

How about that program 'i It cotl.s no
more to have it printed neatly and ab

the style of its printed stationery. 1
