entered DePauw and in the following year entered the orator
ical contest, winning with the greatest margin of any man in
the history of the institution. The subject which attracted the
orator's attention in '92, still holds his interest. He has a
message to deliver, and that message he believes to be of im
portance to the world. For several years, Mr. Farrar has been
engaged in the ministry, in which he has met with a large
measure of success, and has accomplished great good for the
church. His unquestioned popularity among the people, with
whom he had been connected, is very exceptional and shows a
great amount of adaptability to circumstances. In '98 he was
elected editor in-chief of the college paper. He is a member
of the senior class, and of the Delta Upsilon fraternity.
