in our own library. Tho now rules are working well. Mr.
Wyer, in a chapel talk Tuesday morning, cited as proof of this
the fact that a student wont to sloop in one of tho alcoves last
Saturday afternoon.
Band Concert.
The first outdoor concert of tho University Cadet Band was
given from a temporary bandstand on the campus Thursday
evening, April 20th The largo, attentive crowd shows how
it was appreciated. Mr. Earl Wehn, the instructor, has made
tho band what it is this year, one of the best organizations of
its kind in the state, and he should feel proud of his success.
He intends to give concerts at intervals during the remainder
of tho school year. Darkness came last Thursday evening be
fore tho whole program was rendered, but lights are promised
in the future, and a now, interesting and entire program will
be rendered each time.
We Can Please You
The second year Shakespeare class are working on the 5th
play this year, "King Lear."
Harry Everett, who has been visiting friends in tho city tho
past few days, has returned to Chicago.
Albert Turpin has issued invitations for a general fraternity
party at his dancing hall this (Friday) evening.
W. S. Hoitzman, at present a teacher in the Beatrice high
school, has been elected principal of tho high school at Osceola.
Miss Abbio McHonry, who has been tho guest of Miss Jes
sica Morgan, loft for nor homo in Iowa the fore part of tho week.
Carl Beghtol will go to Niagaro, New York, in July to attend
tho Beta Theta Pi convention. Ho will bo the delegate of
tho local chapter.
Several members of tho Orabtreo Forensic Club of Beatrice
will bo in the University next year. They will be a valuable
addition (to tho debating contingent here.
