The Hesperian is informed that the Junior Annual board is
in receipt of much good material, in pictures and otherwise,
from Cuba.
Any one who has European History papers yot with the de
partment are requested to call and got them any day between
eleven and twelve.
Oharlio Taylor, '98 has already won a good reputation at
Ohiowa and he has plenty of energy still in reserve. Ho, too,
is one of Prof. Luckey's pedagogy boys of last year.
The opening reception of the Y. M. 0. A. in their new
quarters will bo held tomorrow evening and all young men are
invited to attend. The severity of the weather caused the post
ponement. The University members of the L. H. S. class, '95, took a
trolley ride to University Place on Monday evening. After
enjoying the hospitality of Mattie Goodell they took a late
car for the city.
Major Weeks remarked Monday evening on the good con
dition of Government property in charge of the University. A
little more care as to personal appearance would make the
battalion one of the smartest looking bodies of troops in the
country as it is now one Of the best drilled and steadiest.
Mr. 0. D. Chandler, '9ti, of Hartington was called to Lin
coln a week ago to attend the funeral of his mother. Not
quite a week later death again entered the home and carried
away his father. Tho Hkbperian joins the students and fac
ulty in expressing their sincere sympathy to Dr. Chandler and
other members of tho family in their bereavement.
