Kingsbury sprained his ankle and Iowa did everything to delay the game. Again and again Irwin smashed the Iowa lino for big gains. Five times in succession he carried the ball, and made an average of 4 yards for each buck. The ball was on Iowa's 8 yard lino. A few more bucks would have taken it over. Here the game was delayed by the Iowa coacli rushing on the field, and the game was called on account of darkness, and Iowa had one point in her favor. CtottWttWttWWWWWWWWWWWBWJWW 5T ". LITERARY SOCIETIES ttttttttttttftttttttttt&ttMttttttttttttttUM According to a decision of the debating association another division has been added to the preliminary contests. This makes the total number seventy-two. During the" Thanksgiving recess the debating clubs were rather quiet. Many of those registered for the preliminaries occupied the time in taking notes. To glance at them work ing in the library would remind one of those periods in the school year when history papers are over duo a day or so. The debating clubs this year have not been able to securo many contests with other colleges. The fact that the prelim inary debates were discussed a few weeks earlier than usual, is, no doubt, the cause. The Dolian club, so far as wo have been able to learn, is the only organization that has secured a debate with other colleges. They debate with Doano hero December 9th. R. D. Androson, W. F. McNaughton and F. E. Edgor ton will represent the Dolians on the affirmative of the ques tion, "Resolved, That party allegiance is preferable to inde pendent action in politics." The State Normal students who are in Lincoln and Univer sity Place, met at the homo of Misses Bertha and Nona Johnsion Thursday evening for their annual Thanksgiving reunion. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. J. J. King, H. L. Sams, Guy Joy, Edith and Amos Hutchinson, Sanford Hunt with his sisters Bertua and Laura, and Robert and Carrie Ord and Mamie Agnow of Wosloyan. W. J. Lowrio, H. 0. Sutton and Misses Mamie and Nettie Henry wore also present. The evening passed most pleasantly. The Palladians had a regular old fashioned Thanksgiving feed Wednesday evening. Sandwiches and pickles, dough nuts and pumpkin pie, fruits, candy and nuts completed the list of refreshments. Everyone enjoyed himsolf thoroughly. G. A. Benedict was toast-master for the ovoning. Mr. Roid responded to the toast ' The Rag," Miss Nona Johnston to "'An Old Thanksgiving Dinner," Mr. J. J. King to "Tho Now Mombors," and Miss Rona Alderman to "The Future." FOR MEN ONLY REGENT Miss Alderman spoko as a prophet looking into the Palladian of the future. Among the Alumni Palladians Messrs. H. O. Sutton, Banghart and Thatcher, and Misses Helena Bedford, Flora Bullock, Mabel Cushman and Fannie Hewitt wore present. A merry crowd of Dolians and their friends gathered in Dolian Hall Wednesday evening, November 23rd, to partici pate in the annual Thanksgiving feed. Lively and interesting games made the time pass quickly. Cake, fruit and candy wore served from dainty little plates and good jokes and stories with plenty of merry laughter served for sauce and champagne. Those present wore: Misses Archer, Fleming, Buckmaster, Robinson, Pyrtle, Packard, Davis, Wilson, McCallura, Wig gins, Muldoon, Rosa, Votaw. Messrs. Boomer, Theobald, H. J. Theobald, Root, Turner, Warner, Moore, Swallow, Osborne, Garrett, Bartos, Harner, Jones, McCallum. H (College of iato Holes. If Many of the laws spent the Thanksgiving recess out of town. Monday was the first day of the second term in the College of Law. The Maxwell club will elect officers tomorrow evening. A full attendance is desired. The visit of Chancellor McOlain of S. U. I. College of Law, was greatly enjoyed by all law students. - A Whiskers club has been organized in the college with Loreman as president; Soldon secretary. The Junior Law class elected officers as follows last Monday: N. 0. Abbott, president; Irwin, vice president; E. L. Brown, secretary. McPherrin, Crouch and Leigh wore appointed a committee on constitution and by laws. The first eaau in the Moot Court club was tried last Monday ovoning, Dean Reese presiding, Miss Bertha Stull clerk and J. E. LoDoit sheriff. It was an action to recover on a prom issory note in which Ernest B. Perry was plaintiff and Or lando Y. Kring defendant. The plaintiff won. Attorneys for plaintiff, Kelly and Graham; for defendant, Toboy and Unkofor. TEACHER WANTED. An experienced primary teacher wishing employment for an hour or two for each day in giving lessons to a little seven-year-old girl, is requested to call on H. W.
