Jasper Hunt '90 recently mnrried Miss
Ella Hall of Bennett. Mr. Hunt has for the
pas two years been principal of the Palmyra
schools. The bride has been a teacher in the
Cheney schools the past year.
The Unions have elected the following
officers: President, Martha Chappell; vice
president, Perse Morse: secretary, C. J. Piatt;
treasurer, Eva McCune; corresponding secre
tary, G. C- Howard; sergcant-at-arms, J. J.
Plowheau.
A number of the students of the American
History department went down to the B. &
M. station Wednesday afternoon to bid Prof.
Caldwell good-bye. No university instructor
is more popular among his students than the
"little professor."
The joint meeting of the Y. M. C. A. and
Y. W. C. A. was led Sunday afternoon by Dr.
and Mrs. Hastings. The subject was "Mex
ico." Dr. Hastings has spent several months
there studying the condition of the people and
their need of Christian influence. The meet
ing proved very profitable.
The Nebraska section of the American
chemical association will hold a regular meet
ing the evening of May 31, in room 12 of the
Chemical laboratory. Prof. E. H. S. Bailey,
of Kansas University, will address the society.
Following the address the society will give its
annual banquet.
The local cliaptcr of the Phi Beta Kappa
met Wednesday night and elected new officers
and new members from the senior class. The
officers are: President, Dr. C. E. Bessey; vice
president, Prof. Lawrence Fossler; secretary,
IT. C. Peterson; corresponding secretary, Miss
Louise Pound; member of the executive com
mittee, Miss Henry.
