II. D. Sams is, this week, enjoying a visit
from two of his brothers.
Professor Avery said good bye to his chem
istry class Tuesday.
John Johnson has determined to spend the
summer in Lincoln studying French.
Hon. John C. Watson, of Nebraska City,
is lecturing to the Junior laws on 'Criminal
Procedure."
Steve J. Corey and "William E. Axling
will attend Rochester Theological Seminary
next year.
Miss Eleanor Raymond will sing at the
Ashland commencement exercises. Miss
May Colson will accompany her.
R. S. Ililtner aud G. E. Lovoland are fac
ulty members who were recently elected to
membership in Sigmi Xi.
The University will bo practically deserted
Wednesday. Everyone seems to be planning
to attend the opening of the exposition.
The Sophomores met Wednesday aud elect
ed L. W. Peason, president; 0. A. Davis,
vice president; Ghutys Henry, secretary; E.
G. Woodrufl', historian.
The greater part of C. J. Allen's head of
hair left for parts unknown between two
days. C. J. is now commonly spoken of as.

The English club has elected officers as fol
lows: May Whiting, president; P. IL Thomp
son, vice president; J. A. Sargeant, secretary;
Flora Bullock, librarian. The last meeting
will, be with Miss Prey Saturday evening.
Miss Edna Bullock and Mrs. H. H. Wilson
were this week tde recipients of flowers from
the boys in the State Industrial School at
Kearney. The flowers were sent to show
their appreciation of books sent them by
these ladies.

of the debating association are very hopeful
concerning tho debating prospect for next
year.

Unless Kansas backs down at the last min
ute, Captain Kindler and his men will have
an opportunity to show the Ja' llnwkers a
thing or two about the national game next
Mondaj' afternoon. At Topeka our boys were
able to tie the Kansans in a fourteen inning
game; we must defeat them Monday. To do
this let every student attend the game. Un
der Deacon Kindler the boys are playing good
ball aud deserve the students' support. So
far, Manager Ryons has not been encouraged
as he should be. Let us do our part and at
tend Monday's game. The game will be
worth tho price and the management needs
the money.
