J. W. Searson will instruct in the institutes
oi' the counties of Hall, Hamilton, Hebron
and Clay.
W. S. Heitzman will teach history, civics
and arithmetic in Polk county institute this
summer.
Miss Suzanne "Walker, of the Omaha high
school, viBited friends at the University Mon
day. Inspector J. "W. Crabtree will go to Barne
tou this evening to deliver the commence
ment address before the graduating class.
Prof. Fosslrr is giving his Sunday school
class at the Universalist church a course of
lectures on the book of Job.
A largo number of students skipped class
Monday to bid the soldiers of the first regi
ment a parting farewell.
The Unions will hold their picnic tomorrow
at Lincoln Park, instead of Burlington beach,
as was stated last week.
V. R. M ('Lucas, ".)(, who has been princi
pal of Fairbury high school the past two
years, has been elected superintendent of the
schools of Central City.

R. H. Graham, '97, has been re-elected
at Arapahoe for the ensuing year, with an
increased salary. The University receives
excellent reports from Mr. Graham's work.

and regents to encourage debating and ora
tory by allowing a certain amount of credit

The Union boys will give their special pro
gram Friday evening. The boys have, spent
no little pains in getting up this program and
an excellent entertainment is assured.
