Debating Club will entertain the girls of the
P. G. D. C.
The TJ. B. D. C. and the D. B. D. C. will
debate the Cuban question in Union hall next
Saturday night. All are invited to attend.

The P. B. D. C. elected the following offi

Last Saturday evening the Palladiaus were
entertained at the Wcsleyau by their brothers
and sisters of the Orophilian literary society.
It was very late when the special cars drew
the merry crowd back to the city.
Frank Coover. a Pal Indian and member of
the class of 1901, leaves Thursday for his
home near Cleveland, Ohio. Continued ill
health lias made it necessary for Mr. Coover
to return home.
The officers of the U. B. D. C. for the en
suing term are: D. I. Pope, president; Bait,
vice-president; 1L J. Archer, secretary; C. C
North and E. Berry, attorneys; F. G. Hawxby
sergeant-at-arms.
Jonas Lien left for Sioux Fall last Monday
evening where he will take charge of the busi
ness end of the "Press," one of the leading
newspapers of South Dakota. Mr. Lien has
completed his undergraduate work and will
return in June for his "sheep skin."

It is gratifying to note the attention which
one of our professors is receiving in an eastern
paper. In a Lincoln letter in the New York
Voice of March 10, comments on a temper
ance mass meeting held in the Funke opera
house under the auspices of the Red Ribbon
club ou College day, where representatives
of all the colleges in Lincoln were there says:
"Prof. T. M. Hbdgman of the University of
Nebraska made an admirable address, taking
high grounds against the saloons and "citing
the remarkable success of prohibition in Cam
bridge and expressed hopes that similar re
sults might be reached in thecapitol city of
Nebraska."'

Friday evening was one of the very beet
special programs of this year. The hall was
crowded and great interest, was manifeetrto
the close. The music was given by the Del
ian quartet composed of Messrs Moore, Beedy,
Vasey and Edgerton and showed great study
and care. The paper read by Mr. Wymore
showed deep and earnest thought. Its com
position was excellent. Mr. Boomer's oration
was a splendid tribute to the military heroes
of the nation. Mr. Sargent's ability to write
stories is so well known that no one will be
surprised to learn that his story of western
life was of great merit. Mr. Edgerton's stamp
speech was a little out of the ordinary but.it
took well with the audience. He worked,up
considerable enthusiasm.
The surprise of the evening came when the
curtain was pulled back exposing ten yqqag
fellows arrayed in all of the paraphernalia.' of
"gym" girls. The girls in the audience fairly
gasped for breath, each one wondering if her
uniform was up there. To add to tie reah'tv
of the scene, several young fellows climbed
into the window and they were received with
giggles by the girls on the stage. The exhi
bition included wand drill, dumb-bell drill
individual work and wound up with an ex
citing game of basket ball.
