A muss meeting in the intorest of football ball was held yesterday morning after chapel. Dr. Hastings was elected chairman. Prof. Caldwell was called on for a speech. Ho first humorously told of the early athletics of the University. Ho was proud of the fact that he played on the first University ball team. Prof. Caldwell told the students that as a member of the athletic board ho proposed to stand for clean athletics. If there is ever a time when it is impossible to stand for clean athletics he said ho would resign from tho board. Tho little professor was roundly ap plauded as he took his seat. Roscoo Pound urged the student body to support substantially support, tho team which is to represent our alma, matcv. He thought tho students should realize that a strong team could not bo put in the field with out the support of the student body. "When Mr. Pound finished, slips wore handed to the students in order to learn how many season tickets would bo purchased. Miss Matilda B. Stowart is out oi school this week on account of sickness. Prof. W. D. Langworthy Taylor has mov ed into tho Eddy house on It and 25th street. After considerable "scrapping" last night tho Pershings elected W. H. Qury, captain: 0. W. Weeks, 1st lieut.; S. W. Pinkerton. 2nd lieut. and J. D. Hastie, 1st sargeant.
