The interest being manifested by stu
dents in the coming city election is indeed
worthy of notice. Men who spend from
four to six years in the city of Lincoln
have a decided right to participate in its
struggles for good government. The
student vote is strong enough to influence
the election returns to a marked degree
and it is to be hoped that no voter will
neglect his responsibility. College men
are not 'influenced' as much as many
others bjT petty party ties, when it comes
to municipal elections, and this enables
them to choose the best man for the place
regardless of affiliation.

Several have reported as not having
received their Hesperian. We h ope that
the spirit which made the check

there is a season of the year when a va

It is true that the jam in the main hall
is frightful 311st after classes, and that the
mail boxes are difficult of access, but this
does not justify some of the carlessness
which has become especially evident of
late. Mail has been missing for a whole
week and then suddenly appeaml in the
proper box. The trouble lies in the fact
that some people care not for anyone's
convenience except their own. Komeone
goes to the mail-box, seizes the bunch of
letters or notes in the pigeon-hole mark
ed with his initial, glances overt he names
and then discharges the handful in the
first box which comes handy. This meth
od of proceedure is very annoying to the
one who fails to receive an important
missive which has been dropped in his
box half minute for the sake of oth
ers is surely not wasted even though the
time is short and the press in the hall
unpleasant.
