continuing her studies at her home this

Chancellor MeDowel, of Denver, will
give an address Sabbath, Nov. 15th at 3
). m. in the chapel. His subject will be
Bible Study. The chancellor is an ex
eellent speaker and it is hoped that as
many as possibly can, .will take this op
portunity of hearing him.

Remember that the business managers
of the Junior Annual board offer prize's
for the best stories and poems written by
students for the Annual. All students
who can write are urged to compote.
The stories must not contain morothan
four thousand words; and three typo
written copies of each story and poem
must be handed to Miss Jean Tuttlo bo
fore Jan. 15th, 1897. The author's name
must be0 enclosed in a sealed envelopo
which has the subject of the story or
poem written on the out side.

Comfort to California.
Every Thursday morning, a tourist,
sleeping car for Salt. Lake City, San
Francisco and Los Angeles leaves Omaha
and Lincoln via the Burlington Route.
It is carpeted ; upholstered in rattan ;
has spring seats and backs and is pro
vided with curtains, bedding, towels,
soap, etc. An experienced excursion
conductor and a uniformed Pullman por
ter accompany it through to the Pacific
coast.
While neither us expensively finished
nor as fine to look at; as a palace sleeper,
it is just as good to ride in. Second-class
tickets are honored and the price of a
berth, wide enough and big enough for
two, is only $5.
