A. G. Faurot,'91, in a letter to Professor
Fossler, said he was enjoying himself very
much in Berlin. He expects soon to take
np hia studies in the University of Wutten
bnrg. Mr. Faurot is specializing in Germanic
philology.

The chapel was crowded every day last
week. The improvement in attendance was
so marked tho chancellor could not help

to American history appears the following

There was considerable difficulty in select
ing delivery judges for the local oratorical
contest. Chancellor MncLean, Judge Hall,
and John L. Webster of Omaha, wero first
chosen, with Ross Hammond, of Fremont,
Mr. Dennis and Talbot as alternates. Mr.
Hammond and Mr. Talbot wero the only
ones of the six who could except and Hon.
T. C. Monger of this city consented to act
as the third judge.

Professors Adams and Burnett looked in
for a moment at tho Ninth and Z mission,
Sunday afternoon. Thcro was no more
standing room inside, so they went to take a
look at the homo engaged for tho college
settlement work. They express themselves
as very much pleased with the enthusiasm
manifested in tho Sunday-school, and with
the arrangements in progress for tho reading
room.
T. A. Williams, who has been at work
in tho botanical laboratory for some time
will leavo this week to take up his work
again as professor of botany in tho state
agriculture school of South Dakota.
