appeared a poom of merit by tho Rov. llen
deo. Mr. Hendee will bo remembered as
the gentleman to whom Miss Elizabeth
Russol was married last summer.
Perhaps it is not generally known that a
member of tho class of '90 has been for
some time engaged as pastor of tho Christian
church of Waterloo, Nebraska. Mr. F, F.
Cook is tho gentleman wo mention. Throo
years ago ho took up tho work, and his
friends are moro than gratified to loarn that
during tho last summer his church received

tho Freshmen boys at their last meeting.

Geo. R. Spurlock, a former University
student, now living at Plattsmouth, has just
closed a successful candidacy for county
judge of Cass county on the republican

On Friday, November 8, a very pretty
informal party occured in the Sigma Chi
rooms, Halter block. All tho active mem
bers of the chapter with their fair ones wore
present and had a jolly time. Dancing was
indulged in to tho excellent music rendered
by Mrs. Clarkson.
Visitors to tho Union society pro
grams of last year will certainly remember
Miss Dorn Zediker, tho sweet singer. They
may also remember Mr. Eddie Gunn. Both
of them moved to Alabama some timo last
summer, and now tho Hesperian has tho
pleasure of announcing their wedding, and
of extending congratulations to tho happy
Abe Chappoll was shaking hands with
old friends around the halls last week. Abo
has been attending tho Colorado school of
mines at Golden whore ho was obliged to go
on account of his health. Ho says ho would
much profor to attend tho University as tho
school of mines is not peopled with "co-eds."
Tho only compensation ho has for his college
loneliness, ho says, is tho number of- fair
acquaintances in tho city.
