When tho next appro priation is made by tho legislature let us hope that it will bo sufficient to greatly as sist in purchasing a few needed books. J. L. Those who are familiar with the ups and downs of a young lawyer's life can best sympathize with him. Law students are reading with interest the press reports of the Durrant trial. The assistant counsel for the defense, General Dickinson, is indeed making a noble effort in behalf of the accused man, but he seems to be working against fate in having lost the services of his leader, Mr. Deuprey, so early in the case. B. E. Hendricks has made application to the supreme court for admission to the bar subject to the examination by a commission appointed by the court. He studied law one year in Judge Davis' oflice at Blair, was a Junior last year and commenced the Senior work this year. His presence will be greatly missed but all the boys will join in a hearty wish for his success. Resolutions adopted by the Maxwell club, pctober 19, '95. The faculty interfered in a free choice of foot-ball manager by forcing two or three of its number into the board mooting josterday afternoon. Under such compulsion the board elected Whipple, manager; Doc Ever ett, aesistant; Hay ward, manager of the base-ball team, and Andrews, assistant.
