An especial feature of the girls' program at Union Hall last Friday nigth was a session of the Union Boys' Debating Club given by the girls. The Palladian's big picture is out, the Union's is soon to be done, and the Delians have theirs imprinted in the hearts of their members. Rev. Albert Bushnell, D. D., of St. Joseph, will give the annual address before the Christian associations in the chapel. Sun day evening. Miss Cora Parker left last Tuesday for Shimersock Hills where she will join Mrs. Canfield, and together they will spend the summer there studying art. Allen Fling says he is going to spend all his wealth a hundred dollars this summer in making bicycle excursions out from Den ver, that is after he gets there. The last two weeks of the course in money were devoted to lectures bj' six members of the class, each one lecturing on some topic to which he had given special attention. The lectures were instructive and interesting. At a meeting of the Palladian Society Friday evening, Emma Boose was elected president; N. L. Pollard, vice-president; Elizabeth Thompson, secretary; A. W. Car penter, treasurer; R. S. Baker, sergeant-at arms. The Senior prninnnndc was held at the capital Wednesday, the 22nd. Everything went off pleasantly. It was voted, by those present, to be a grand success. Much credit is due to the committee who had it in charge. At a meeting of the Union Society last Friday, G. II. McGuffey was elected presi dent; Walter Rodcs, vice-president; I. N. Shreves, recording secretary; Arvilla Stock ton, corresponding secretary; E. N. Short, treasurer; G. W. Warren, aergeant-atarms. Professor and Mrs. Ward started on their vacation tour last week. The Professor came back to finish up his work, while Mrs. Ward went on to Chicago. They will spend the summer visiting in the east. At a meeting of the Political Economy club Monday evening the following officers were elected for next semester: President, J. H. Lien; vice president, Mr. Philpott; secretary and treasurer, S. P. Rowland; for executive committee, Mr. Stearns, Miss Smails and Miss Bruner. The entertainment given by Miss Hunter to the Deliau society was in every way a success. No one realized how the time had flown until they found themselves blown home about half past twelve, but "Oh what a difference in the morning." Every one expected a good time and was not disap pointed. The competitive drill was one of the best, and of course company "B" was the best of the best, though company "C' won many substantial laurels. Mr. Cheney and Mr. Eliott have reason to be proud of the swords presented to them. They certainly betoken the sincere esteem of their companies. In the individual drill Mr. Chas. Weeks took first honors, and Mr. Emerson second. The last meeting of the English club for this year was held at the homo of Miss Ed wards, Saturday night, May 18th. A feature of the evening's entertainment was a verse writing contest. Mr. Thompson carried off the honors. Officers for next year were elected uh follows: ilian Melick, president.; Professor Gray, vice president; Professor Adams, third member of the executive com mittee. Mr. Oberlies, the retiring president, made a fitting speech in which he gave the club every encouragement for the continua tion of its work. A story was read by Miss Russel. Those present were: Misses Bruner, Melick, Wort, Dundas, Russel, Morrissey, Edwards, Bullock; Professors Adams and Ansley; Messrs. Abbott, Alex ander, Shreve, Thompson, Oberlies.
