Miss Jordin has left school on account of her eyes. The Omaha Club wants the cadets to go to Omaha to camp. Prof. Burnett is expected back by the tenth of next month. Miss Frank McKinnon visited Miss Mar garet Hall, last week. Professor Ward has been suffering from an attack of la grippe. Miss Basset has been home to be present at the funeral of her uncle. Miss Vesta Gray was visiting her sister, Miss Etta Gray, last week. Miss Jones spent a few days in Chicago last week visiting the libraries. Professor Bates did not hold classes Tues day. La grippe has a new victim. Miss Myrtie is recovering from the gripp, but is not yet able to attend school. We were glad to see our genial Chancellor around after his slight indisposition. W. R. Dunroy has been obliged to leave school for the remainder of the year. Miss Corbin was not in school last week on account of sickness and company. Miss Willa Cather is seriously ill with the typhoid-pneumonia contracted in Chicago. W. M. and J. H. Johnson left this week for Wyoming, where they will practice law. The English Club was pleasantly enter tained by Miss Bruner, Saturday evening, March 9. A good many of the University boys at tended Bryan's reception at the Lansing, March 19. Miss Thyra Hohman, class of 1900, died at her home in South Lincoln, Tuesday morning, March 19. The English Club meets March 23, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Professor Gray, 650 South Seventeenth street. Miss Julia Prescott entertained a number of University students last week Monday, in honor of Miss McKinnon. Saturday afternoons the country is over run by botany fiends. These are easily dis tinguished by their long tin cans. Miss Green, state secretary of the Y. W. C. A. met all the committees of the Univer sity Y. W C. A. the last of this week. The psychology class would like to view their examination papers from the bottom of some creek or river, just to magnify their grades you know. Miss Woodmansee has been compelled to leave school on account of illness. She is is now at Cheyenne, Wyo., but expects to be back for commencement. The Iowa State Oratorical contest was won by a lady. Her oration was entitled "A Plea for Shylock.' There are seven toen colleges in the Iowa association. All the boxes have been sold for the per formance of the Dramatic Club, Monday night, and a number of theatre parties have been organized. About forty Palladians will go. V Bessie Brown has returned to school again. She has been having the measles. Her mother was hero during her sickness. Miss Mason has been absent for a like reason. The change madeii the announcement for vacation was very pleasing to the student body, but it seems to have been some sort of an April fool, and to have been speedily corrected.
