It is certain that the Dramatic Olub,
which will appear at the Fnnke Monday
ovoning in "Open Gates" and "Ohums"
will be greeted by an enthusiastic University
audience. No one who can possibly afford
it should fail to be there; it will be the Uni
versity event, par excellence, of the season.
The movement toward withdrawal from the
Oratorical Association is gathering strength
every day. It is at last dawning upon the
student body that we really are what we
have been claiming to bo ono of the leading
universities in the country and as such should
have no place in an association comprising a
few little third-rate, 2x sectarian institu
tions, which have taken and will take every
occasion presented to "do up the state."
The wise course is to leave them to fight it
out among themselves. Hurrah for the withdrawal!
Tiik arrest of a student Wednesday night
for stealing mineral specimens was a stop in
the right direction. The endless pilfering
which goes on about us cannot be cured by
moral suasion or ethics, so let the law take
its course. We are sorry for the sufferers,
but they bring it upon themselves. The au
thorities owe it to the student body as a
branch of society, that such violations of the
law be promptly punished. Student are not
better than other people, nor are they to be
exempt from just punishment for wilful law
breaking. Let the good work go on.
