Com ing as it does from a thinking man of more than national reputation it is indeed gratify ing to tbe literary societies. '95 is really coming to the front. We do not speak of tbe professors alone, it is natural and to be expected tbat tbey take a leading part in educational matters, but of tbe stu dents "who have graduated very recently. At the association meeting just held Allen Fling, Frank Brown, Francis Tucker and Bnfus Bentley not only bad creditable but excellent papers. Indeed about tbe whole meeting the University atmosphere and spirit could be felt. Certainly this is right and well and we should rejoice at it. At tbe reqnest.of tbe business manage ments of tbe two college papers a faculty committee has been appointed to, in a man ner at least, supervise college publications. THs action was taken in order to prevent, if possible, a re-occurrence of tbe disgraceful, not to say questionable, melbods which tbe school bas experienced from a recently de funct publication.
