Miss Pillsbury is back in school again.
Miss Gray's cousin made her a short visit.
C. Dtvvis, of Falls City, went home for a few
days.
There are six classes in beginning German this
semester.
Everyone unites in praising Mr. Spear's ability
as a speaker. .
Mr. Porterfield is superintending the mines at
Trinadad, Colo.
Mr: G. I. Babcock, '94, was seen in the halls
Saturday afternoon.
Prof. Wolfe received a barrel of alcohol' last
week for the department.
J. H. Johnson- will go to Falls City Monday to
coach the foot- ball team.
Mr. Warner, of '96, was visited by his mother
the early part of last week.
Mr. Moody, an ex-Delta Tau Delta, joined the
PaHadians last Friday night. -
J. Johnson has been in Beatrice training the
high school foot ball team.
Miss Jones has recently made a visit to the
Misses Weston in Beatrice.
,: The Girls' Debating Club promises a regular
' court trial in the near iuture.
Mr. Stroman is back in the University. He
expects to enter the Law school.
Ray Patch has what you call a new mustache
in an early stage of development.
, Students are enthusastic over Prof. Fossler's
class in modern German literature.
. Otis Weeks returned last week from a some
what extended sojourn in Montana.
F. F. Tucker lead the missionary meeting of
. the Christian Association, October 14.
Mr. F. F. Tucker was in Lincoln on the thir
teenth to attend the C, E. convention.
The Y. W. C. A. held a book reception Octo
ber 5, at the home of Mrs. F. M. Hall.
Miss Dunn, '98, was in town last week, visiting
old friends. She is teaching at Milford.
. Mr. Philbric will return to school soon. He
has been detained on account of sickness.
W. W. Wilson is. back from Nebraska City to
swell the numbers of the Law department.
A few complaints are heard from those who
were disappointed in military appointments.
Mr. Miller has left the Uni. to take an import
ant place in the schools of Schuyler Nebraska.
Schell, of the classs of '91, was visiting the
University lately. He is teaching in the Beatrice
schools.
Chancellor Canfield was in Nebraska City
Friday to speak before the County Teachers' As
sociation. The department of Philosophy expects six
hundred dollars worth of instruments from Queen
& Co. this week.
Mr. Miller is teaching the night school at First
and K streets. Miss Pfeiffer holdsa similar posi
tion at the Central.
Miss Maud Hammond, '94, has reached New
Haven, and is hard at work captivating the boys
and learning Sanskrit,
A. A. Faurot of '91, who has been principal of
the high school of Seward since his graduation, is
posting in Philology.
Ninety-eight held a meeting last Friday to dis
cuss a cane rush. They finally agreed to disagree
until some further time.
One of the steam pipes in the library sprung a
leak last week. A number of books were wet be
fore anyone noticed it.
Mr. F. G. Fisher spent a few days in Palmyra
last week. While absent, he made a speech on
" Experiences in Italy."
Messrs. G. R. and J. F. Boomer were in the
city over Sunday. They are teaching in the
southern part of the state.
Mr. Gus Chapman was making a farewell pil
grimage through University Hall Friday evening.
He left Monday for Chicago.
H. S. Lord "has a lucrative position with the
B. & M. Railroad in Montana. Mr. Lehmer is
also there with a surveying party.
It has been found necessary to employ two
more assistants in the physical laboratory. They
are Miss Jackson and Mr. Brooks.
The Juniors have taken the Chancellor's advice
and unanimously decided that it would be inex
pedient to issue an Annual this year.
