Last Tuesday evening the Y. M. C. A. gave an entertainment in the chap el, the proceeds of which went toward tilting up the new room in the base- incnt of the Main building that was recently allotted to them by the board ' of regents. A moderately large audi- I ence was present, the lower floor be ing comfortably tilled, with many in J tiie balcony besides. For the most part, the numbers were of a higb ' standard and were well received. Near- I ly nil were considered sufficiently good for an encore. In the competi tive military drill at the close Ser- I geant E. A. Pearse of Company A was given the decision as the best drilled man. The judges were Captain lias tie. Captain Stebbins and Lieutenant brown. Those upon the program deserving especial mention were Miss Vera Wat tles, in a reading "Making Them Feel at Home," Miss Maude Oakley in a vocal solo, "Swallows," and a reading by Miss Crawford of the school of ora tory. The Tolyn quartet also ren dered an excellent number and encore. The club swinging of Joel Stebbins called forth repeated applause after each difficult feat. Miss Belle Warner again appeared in a vocal solo. The program complete was as follows: "Mystery" Mansion Telyn Quartet. Reading "Guinevere" Tennj'son Miss Rcna Alderman.
