The challenge on behalf of Har vard, Columbia, Vale and Princeton Universities chess clubs for a match to be played by cable with Oxford and Cambridge was sent recently by mnil on tho steamship Paris. The Ameri cans propose to play the match on six boards at the rate of twenty moves a week. The trustees of Columbia University hnve adopted a resolution limiting ad mission to tlte law school to college graduates.
