Mr. Llewellyn who will linve charge of the. guard wns to have been present but he sent a letter giving all conditions in detail. The cadets must sign a contract to stay until the fist, of November and must le on the ground ten days be fore the exposition opens. The pay, to begin the first of June, is: Captain, $7.1; 1st lieutennnt, $0.1; 2d lieut.. $00; sergts., $:.(); corp., $45; privates, $40. The guard is to be formed in one company, the men to do on duty four hours nt. a time. The men will have to buy uniform nnd board themselves. The chancellor stated that the terms wer not us favorable as ho had expect ed and few of those present seemed at all satisfied. However, those who wish to go will be drilled by Lieut. Lyons in saber drill and guard duty. About forty men have been examined by Dr. Hastings and most have passed very satisfactorily. THE SENIOR BOOK.
