The diversity Glee and llnnjo club gave its first home concert at the Oli ver theatre last J'Ylihiy evening. imr sized audience was present, to greet the boys. The boxes were occu pied by several of tin fraternities and literary societies, mid were tastefully draped in the colors of those oriumi. at ions. That the program vns appreciated is shown by the fact that every num ber with one exception was encored. The numbers by the glee club were interspersed with sclctions from the banjo olul, vacli of which received a hearty recall. The sobs by Miss Treat and Miss Palmer and the cornet solos by Mr. Wehn were tlucc of the most pleasing numbers of tie evening, and each was forced to mpond to an en core. If any criticism wen to be passed on the concert it would be that the glee club was not heard often enough mid the variety of songs was not so great as last year. However, the con cert was satisfactory r.s a whole, mm Prof. Kimball has done well to get iae noys trained for a convert early in the season. so CllAl'KL TALKS. Pies. The three members of the Hoard of Re gents were introduced by the chancel lor, the two former as Illinois men, that being Illinois' day, the last as a Nebraska product, and each spoke briefly and entertainingly. The chan cellor then presented Prcs. Draper to close the exercises, who spoke for sonic time ver.v hajmily. Tn closing he said he had seen every department of the t'niversitv, but the yelling depart ment and lie would be glad to hear that if there was one. The students were pleased and very competent to satisfy him on that score. PKRSHINC; JUKLKS WIN. The Persliings started out with a small lead, but the score was soon tied, .'I to ;, and remained so up to the eighth inning, when Lau knocked in two runs by a long hit. The game was intensely exciting from the first to Inst, and neither side could claim a victory until the Inst man was out.
