Subscriptions may bo paid at this oiQcs, or at tho Co-op, Tiik choice manner in which some pcoi)lc lind it necessary Lo display their "class spirit'' has Hot met with much favor by the student body as a whole. We had better discird this relic of barbar ism and adopt something a little more in keeping with civilization. "Wo must remember that all the people of the state are intently watching us, an I they fire ready to criticize our leat action. It is curious how some people regard students, especially those of the state universsty. They arc always oji the alert for an excuse to call us 'rowdies," "hoodlums,' etc., ami generally conduct themselves in a manner most exasperating to us. We cannot afford to strengthen this feeling in the least, but must strive to keep it down. There are other ways in which our class spirit must be shown. We can meet our fellow students on the foot ball or base ball field, in de bating contests, and in numerous other ways in which a victory may be won which will leave no bitter regret nor wounded feelings. Let us maintain our class feeling, but not at the expense of our honor, Foit tiik first time in its history, the University of Nebraska has p-oved itself the chamion upon the foot ball field over her three sister states. We havo every reason to rejoice "long and loud" over such a victory, won under5 the most .ad verse circumstances. The difii culties the members of our team encountered during the early part of the season were enough to dis courage the crankiest crank. When we seek for tho cause of our success we find it was due purely and simply to hard work. We did not have a thousand-dollar coach, nor many other such like trifles, which were at the disposal of the other teams of the league. All the glory belongs to the mem bers of the team and second eleven, who have worked and labored so faithfully during tho past season. Now that the excitement of the foot ball season is over, tho Ni iHtASKAN again wishes to urge the students to employ every means in their power to influence the next legislature "to do tho right thing." A list of the members who will compose the coming legislature is printed in another column of this issue. Any one who is at all ac quainted with one of these indi viduals should not hesitate to write to him tit once. Every student should go to hear Rob't McJn tyre's lecture tonight, at tho Funk Opera house. J J is subject will bo ''Buttoned up People." A Suggestion.
