The Union Society Prepares an
Extraordinary Program.
The Unions promise to have

Friday evening. There is to bo a
special program consisting of a
story composed by Miss Pound,
Abbott, Miss Morgan, Shrove, and
Newbranch. Each one writes a
chapter, and is not supposed to
know what is in the preceding
one.
Of what sort it is the public is
not supposed to know but dark
and ill-boding tales have omanatod
from that littlo.jinnex to Prof.
Barber's Latin room where tho
surroundings are sufficiently awful
to give rise to tho most harrowing
of tales.
Terrible descriptions are rife of
a house (haunted, of course,) in a

Saturday evening the Delta Tail
Delhi chapter house was tho scene
of ji delightful stag party given to
the 13etu traternity.

followed by songs and dancing.
A novel feature of the entertain
ment was a glove contest between
Mr. Robinson and Mr. AVhitmore.
In nine hard-fought rounds Mr.
Whitniore proved himself tho best
man.
This is said to bo tho first time
either of tho contestants over saw
boxing gloves.
The guests were Messrs. Adams,
Becher, Ames, Cooley, Forbes,
Thorp, Robinson, Burnet, Everett,
Lehman, Nicholson, Graham, Sum
mers, and McLucas.
"Friday evening Russell Thorp,
Jr., of Edgewood, S. D., was in
itiated into the Beta Thota Pi fra
ternity, following the initiation
was a charming "spread" at which
many admirers wore present.
The Artists' Recitals.
A series of live Artists' Recitals
will be given at tho chapel cf the
university during tho winter and
spring. The first of these recitals
will bo given by Mr. Sieveking, of
tho University Consorvatary, on
the ovening of Tuesday, November
18th, beginning' promptly at eight
o'clock. The doors will bo closed
