Regent II. 1). Kstabrook. had a
dispute late Saturday evening
with a noble member of Lin
coln's police force as to the
students' right to yell. An over
officious guardian ol the law. told
a crowd of students that he
would arrest them if they didn't
stop yelling'. Of course" they
didn't stop. The policeman
rang for the patrol. Then Mr.
Fstabrook stepped up and laid
down a little law lor the police
man's benefit. He said that
students had a right, exiting
from the time when the first
university was founded, to yell
when, where, and as much as
tliev pleased. He also said that
if the Lincoln chief of police
gave any orders which interfered
with this right he ought to deco
rate a grave yard. He also told
the boys to yell again, which
needless to say, they did. The
policeman then departed.
