Arsonist leaves police with no suspects Afire that started in a home late Friday night or early Saturday morning left police with no sus pects. Lincoln Police Officer Katherine Finnell said between 7 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday some one entered the attached garage of a home on Northwest 55th Street and tried to set the east wall of the garage on fire. The wall did not start on fire, so the arsonist then lit the south wall on fire, causing about $1,500 in damage to die garage and its contents, Finnell said. Finnell said the residents, who were home at die time, smelled smoke and called the police. Upon investigation, it was discovered that an eight-inch frozen pizza, valued at $2.50, was also taken from the garage freezer. Two men arrested after robbing woman A drug deal went sour on Sunday when two men robbed a woman after she refused to buy drugs from them. Craig Hanes, 41, and Peautray Green, 43, attempted to sell drugs to a woman living in an apartment on the 1300 block of L Street, Finnell said. Finnell said when the woman refused to buy drugs, die men asked for money and cigarettes. After the woman refused to give them money or cigarettes, one man beat her face, and the other grabbed her wallet, which contained $20, Finnell said. After the men left, the woman called the police with a description of the men's car, Finnell said. Hanes and Green were both arrested for rob bery. Police have no suspects after fire in Abel Hall A fire ignited by hair spray didn’t cause severe damage at Abel Residence Hall early Sunday morning. Mylo Bushing, assistant university police chief, said around 4 a.m., a Community Service Officer smelled something burning in the north stairwell of Abel Hall. Another person also reported a burning smell to the Abel front desk, Bushing said. Officers arrived and found newspapers soaked in hair spray in between the eighth and ninth floors, Bushing said. Bushing said several bottles of hair spray also were found on the landing between the floors. The wall was damaged by smoke, Busing said. Police have no suspects, but Bushing encour aged anyone with information about the crime to call Campus Police at (402) 472-3555.
