To call Sawyer Brown’s live
performances hill of energy is an
understatement. With the show
manship and intensity of one of
the best rock acts, this country
group thrives on being on stage.
Having been around close to
two decades, the group continues
to change and adjust in order to
maintain its appeal. The group
has won numerous awards for top
vocal group and top music video.
Lonestar
When: Sept 3,8 pm.
Lonestar popped into the
country music scene in 1996 with
the hit single “No News.” The song
hit No. 1 and earned the group Top
New Group of the Year honors fay
the Academy of Country Music
The group is known for its
catchy up-tempo sound.
The Beach Boys
When; Sept 4,2 pm
Closing the fair is a group that
has bridged the musical gap
between baby boomers and
Generation X
The Beach Boys’ laid-back,
beach bummin’ tunes first made
them famous in 1961. Since then,
the group has undergone its share
of changes, but the style that
made it famous almost four
decades ago still lets it tour suc
cessfully in 2000.

Shadows” - Shadows would be a
good way to describe die secretive
nature of the “Blair Witch Project”
which, with a new director, a big
budget and different stat could be
a stunning disaster. It opens, aptly,

"Red Planet” - Nobody ever
wants to work with Val Kilmer
after this Mars shoot. O.K., kid
ding. This film will open in fall as
an action alternative to the plod
ding "Mission to Mars” last year.
Funny, two movies about Mars,
and neither of them ever made
summer slate. Sort of stunning,
really. (Nov. 3)
"Charlie’s Angels” - Drew
Barrymore finally got her movie
made, though reports of battling
on the set were rampant.
Cameron Diaz has shed the split
ends from her character in “Being
John Malkovich,” so she’s back to
the traffic-stopping looks that
apparently are supposed to stop
crime. Bill Murray is Bosley. (Nov.

"The Golden Bowl” -Nick
Nolte returns to his artier roots
along with Uma Thurman in this
movie adapted from Hairy James’
