Police say man had sex with girlfriend’s daughter A 23-year-old man was arrested for statutory rape after he allegedly had sex with his girlfriend’s daughter Sunday. Police said Daniel Fowler, 111 B St., is accused of having sex with his 33-year-old girlfriend’s 13-year-old daughter, Lincoln Police Capt. Terrance Sherrill said. The crime took place at the moth er’s home sometime between 2:30 and 3:10 a.m. The mother was not home. 1 1 The victim said she did not con sent to having sex, and even if she did, it would still be statutory rape because she is under 16 years old, Sherrill said. Safe stolen at Amigos A burglary Sunday at Amigos, 5540 Old Cheney Road, showed no forced entry. Between 3:30 and 5 a.m., the office safe was taken from the build ing, Sherrill said. Included in the safe were receipts and an undisclosed amount of cash and checks, Sherrill said. The burglary is still under inves tigation. Beatrice woman says she was raped while visiting friend A Beatrice woman visiting a friend in Lincoln was allegedly raped i— ■ i Saturday. At about 5 a.m. Jose Rodriguez, 27, 1530 C St. Apt. 3, allegedly said he wanted to have sex with the 20 year-old woman, Sherrill said. Rodriguez is then accused of going to the kitchen and picking up a steak knife and threatening her after she declined, Sherrill said. The suspect then punched her, and she complied with his request, Sherrill said. She called police after the assault. She had visible injuries to her face and lip and a bloody nose. Police arrested Rodriguez on one count of first-degree sexual assault and one count of use of a weapon to commit a felony, Sherrill said. Sunday morning car accident injures three people A car rolled several times and ended partially submerged in water Sunday morning after the driver lost control. Three people from the accident near West Raymond Road and N.W. 84th Street were taken to BryanLGH Medical Center West at about 12:20 a.m., Lancaster County Chief Deputy Bill Jarrett said. A 14-year-old passenger was treated and released Sunday. Phuong Tran, 23, 2324 Q St., went into surgery for injuries to his spleen and left kidney. The 17-year old driver was also taken to the hos pital for unknown injuries, Jarrett I-1 said. Both Tran and the 17-year-old driver were in serious condition as of Monday evening. The 17-year-old was driving the car east on West Raymond Road without the headlights on and pass ing several cars, Jarrett said. Witnesses told deputies that the boy tried to pass another car, saw on coming traffic, turned his headlights on and went back into his lane, Jarrett said. He tried to pass another car on the shoulder, lost control of the car and skidded into a ravine, Jarrett said. The boy told deputies he was driving without lights to be silly and lost control when a tire on his 1997 two-door silver Honda Civic blew out, Jarrett said. But when deputies checked the car, all tires were fully inflated, Jarrett said. The 17-year-old was cited for willful reckless driving, Jarrett said.
