Please see ORDINANCE on 3 — ASUN — Senate recommends increase in fees By Sara Salkeld Staff writer ASUN voted Wednesday to rec ommend raising student fees by $15. The recommended total amount for student fees is $270 per student per semester. The senate agreed with the major ity of recommendations made by the Committee for Fees Allocation but chose to add $3,012 to the ASUN bud get. The Association of Students of the University of Nebraska originally requested $278,112, a large increase over last year’s budget of $219,209, because of the addition of NU on Wheels. CFA recommended ASUN receive $3,012 less than that amount, to be taken from the NU on Wheels budget. ASUN President Andy Schuerman said, the rides have increased nearly 10 rides per weekend during the past two weeks. He said because of the increase in the program’s popularity, the money V CFA cut from the budget would be detrimental to the program. Cutting this money could mean that if the number of students using the program were to continue to increase, there would be nowhere to take fund ing from. “There could come a point next year when we’re out of money, and the program has to be shut down,” Schuerman said.
