Five in hospital, two cars totaled after accident A two-car accident outside Lincoln Monday evening sent five people to BryanLGH West hospital, Lancaster County.Sheriff’s Sgt, Robert Marker said. Jorge Jimenez, 28, of Omaha, who was driving a white Plymouth Shadow, violated a stop sign at the intersection of N.W. 14th Street and Highway 2, Marker said. After Jimenez violated the stop sign, Marker said, a Plymouth Caravan driven by Angela Duba of Wilbur, struck the Shadow broad side. A 21-year-old male, Efrain Vega of Crete, was in the Shadow’s pas senger seat, Marker said. Duba, 37, was with her 12- and 10-year-old daughters Cassondra and Mollie. Vega, who was not wearing a seat belt, was carried by helicopter to BryanLGH West, where a repre sentative said he was in serious con dition. Marker said the all members of the Duba family were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident. Jimenez was cited for driving while intoxicated, violation of a stop sign and not wearing a seat belt. Marker said the Shadow, belonged to Vega and that the Shadow and Caravan were both totaled. One woman arrested after drug search i. - A search of a south Lincoln home by police Friday yielded 270 grams of methamphetamine, said Lincoln Police Capt. Lee Wagner. Acting on a search warrant, police arrested Rita Bobzien at the residence and charged her with pos session of methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver. Wagner said police are looking for another individual in connection with the methamphetamine. Investigation on hold until autopsy results arrive The investigation into the death of a 50-year-old Lincoln woman is on hold until autopsy results can confirm the cause of death. The Lancaster County Attorney’s office ordered the autop sy after Julie Martinez was found dead in her home in the 4400 block of Baldwin Avenue. Martinez’s husband found her at 2 a.m. Friday, Police Capt. David Beggs said. Beggs said there were no signs of a struggle and that the death was not considered suspicious. Officer Katherine Finnell said the woman’s relatively young age spurred the investigation into her death. Police obtained a warrant to search the residence Friday. Mobile home fire sends two to hospital A mobile home burst into flames Friday, sending two men to the hos pital, Marker said. Gary Taylor, 52, and Arnold Miller, 57, were both in stable con dition at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln on Monday. A sheriff’s report said Taylor suffered from second- and third degree burns on one arm and both hands, while Miller was hospital ized with burns to his hands, arms and chest. Marker said the pilot light in the 1984 Chevrolet Camper’s refrigera tor was on when Taylor and Arnold tried to fill the camper’s propane tank at Mike’s 66, 8201 N. 56th St. The pilot light ignited the propane, destroying the camper and burning both men, Marker said. The fire was extinguished by firefighters from Lincoln and Raymond after it caused about $8,000 damage to the camper.
