    NETV to air live meeting
about dreaded Y2K bug

Those who want to learn more
about the Y2K bug are encouraged to
participate Wednesday in a live Y2K
town meeting.
John Koskinen, chairman of
President Bill Clinton’s Y2K Council,
will join a panel of Nebraska Y2K
experts who will answer questions
posed by a live studio audience. The
event will be broadcast on Nebraska
Educational Television. People also can
call in during the broadcast and ask
questions.
People interested in being in the
audience should show up Wednesday at
7:30 p.m. at the Nebraska Educational
Telecommunications building, 1800 N.
33rd St. Attendees are encouraged to
bring questions.
The discussion, “Y2K Nebraska
Town Hall,” will be aired live on NETV
at 8 p.m. A pre-recorded program
examining the millennium bug is set for
7 p.m.
The broadcasts are sponsored in
part by the Nebraska Y2K Alliance for a
Confident Tomorrow, a coalition of
businesses geared at providing the pub
lic with Y2K information.

NOTICE TO STUDENTS
All students are eligible to apply for a refund
of the “A” portion of their student fees beginning
August 23 and ending September 17,1999. Students
claiming and receiving a refund will lose benefits
provided by Fund “A” users during the fall semester,
1999-2000. (See box at right.)
Application forms are available at the Student
Organization Financial Services office, 222 Nebraska
Union; the ASUN office, 115 Nebraska Union; and the
East Union Student Involvement office, 300 Nebraska
East Union. Applicants should return the form in
person to 222 Nebraska Union or 300 Nebraska East
Union.
Students must bring their UNL student ID
cards when returning their application. Students who
are unable to return their application in person to one
of the offices in bold lettering above should contact
Dan Paez, 222 Nebraska Union, 472-2154, on or before
September 17, 1999, to make other arrangements.
Students who complete a refund application and
return it on or before September 17, 1999, will be mailed a
check for the amount of the refund requested. Refund checks
will be mailed between September 20-24, 1999.
Students claiming a refund will lose certain benefits
provided by the above Fund “A” users. For details on the
specific benefits which will be lost, please refer to the cover
sheet on the refund application.
