Board considers increasing student fees on 3 campuses By Kim Sweet Staff writer The NU Board of Regents this weekend will decide how much University of Nebraska students will dish out next year in student fees. The regents will consider whether to approve the student fees recom mended by students on each of NU’s four campuses at their monthly meet ing Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in Varner Hall. The recommended increase for the Fund B portion of student fees for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is $14.43 each semester for full-time students. That will increase student fees from $229.73 to $244.16 each semester. If the recommended increase in Fund B money is approved for the University of Nebraska at Omaha, fees will go from $103.75 a semester to $134.00. If they are approved for the University of Nebraska at Kearney, fees will increase from $146.50 per semester to $ 198.50 per semester. If the recommended allocation for the University of Nebraska Medical Center passes, Fund B fees will stay the same at $107.25 per semester. Fund B fees pay for the University Program and Facilities Fee, which maintains the upkeep and programming for different campus facilities, such as the Nebraska and East unions, the Campus Recreation Center and the University Health Center. The regents will also consider approving changes in the UNL stu dent code of conduct. The proposed changes are intend ed to make sure action resulting from a complaint or violation of the code is carried oiit in a timely matter. The revision of the code will also ensure that sanctions against a student match up with the magnitude of the offense. The Association of Students of the University of Nebraska approved the changes to the code during a meeting last month. The Executive Committee of the Academic Senate as well as the university legal counsel have approved the changes. The meeting will be held in the Board Room of Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege Street.
