    A Lincoln teen-ager alleged committed a
string of thefts with the police in tow early
Wednesday morning.
Lincoln Police had the 16-year-old boy
under surveillance starting around 3 a.m. while
he committed six larcenies and four burglaries,
Chief Tom Casady said.
Because there was little traffic, police had
to follow the boy at a distance as he committed
the thefts, and police could not see him commit
the crimes.
They followed him for 2lA hours before
making an arrest at 5:30 a.m. near 29th Street
and Pine Lake Road, and confiscating the
stolen property in his car.
The boy allegedly broke into seven cars,
both on the street and in garages, in south
Lincoln. Police say he also stole some tools
from a construction site for a total loss of
51,588.50. He also caused $100 damage to one

Student arrested for possession
University Police followed the smell of
burning marijuana to an assortment of drug
paraphernalia in Abel Hall on Tuesday evening.
After a student assistant reported smelling
the drug on die 10th floor of Abel around 8 p.m.,
an officer traced the smell to one room,
University Police Sgt. Mylo Bushing said.
The officer contacted the 19-year-old fresh
man in the room, who consented to a search.
Police found two water pipes in the young
man’s closet, and two more in a travel bag under
the bed. AU of the water pipes had marijuana
residue.
Also found was a small amount of marijua
na and a plastic bag of seeds.
The studente was cited for possession of
marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
