Love inspires Noyes Gallery’s February show NOYES from page 9 space with her. Sadie chose three of her friends: Carol Sexton, Steve Settle and John Gillett. Sexton, a resident of Scottsbluff, will exhibit a collection of pastels of the landscapes of Nebraska. Sexton’s work usually features sweeping fields and distant hills, Meysenburg said. Steve Settle, a bronze sculptor, will exhibit a number of sculptures, includ ing a life-size bronze of a child. Finally, John Gillett will exhibit a collection of pottery that abandons tra ditional vase forms for more sculptural shapes. The Main Gallery will feature the talents of two Noyes artists, Olive Bishop and Bonnie Goochey. msnop, a new addition to tne Noyes’ list of artists, will present a col lection of scratch-board works. Scratch-board artists begin with a board painted black and then use a knife to scratch out their designs. Meysenburg described Bishop’s style as nature-oriented, focusing on farm scenes of rabbits, owls and trees. Goochey, a silversmith, will present a collection of jewelry. Goochey usual ly works with abstract shapes, incorpo rating stones and different kinds of metal wire into her bracelets and neck laces. Handmade one-of-a-kind jewelry could make this Valentine’s Day more than just chocolates and flowers.
